Wes Anderson’s Castello Cavalcanti Tributes the 1960s

Curated by Christopher A.7 years ago

Castello Cavalcanti brings Wes Anderson’s signature pastel colors and love for typefaces, symmetry and times gone by to full blast in this love affair to automobile endurance racing à la Targo Florio. The race that had Ferrari’s, Maserati’s, Lamborghini’s and pretty much any race care of its day, blasting through twisting streets of quaint Sicilian mountain towns, from the early 1900 to its demise in the late 1970s.

In this commercial – presented by Prada – we are invited to see what happens when one unlucky driver (played by Jason Schwartzman) crashes into centre square of Castello Cavalcanti, only to find out that his great great grand-uncle Michelangelo lives there. And so our story unfolds…
