The 3 Best Spas in Barcelona

Written by Christopher A.7 years ago

If you prefer the calmness and relaxation of a luxurious spa over a loud and overcrowded beach, fear not. I have gone out on a mission to find the three best spas in Barcelona for you to enjoy.

Aire de Barcelona

Barcelona is known not only for its vibrant culture scene and high life shopping but perhaps even more for its many beaches and crazy nightlife. The city dates back to Roman times and still retains a historic grandeur through a plethora of famed buildings. So what could be a better location for a spa that celebrates ancient Greek and Roman bath traditions?

Aire de Barcleona is located in El Born, a neighborhood that is part of Cuitat Vella (“Old city”). Think narrow streets and gothic buildings and mix it up with haute couture boutiques, bars and gourmet restaurants and you get the picture. The spa it self is located in a former meat storage area of the El Born Market, where century old wells that had supplied the city with water were found during renovations.

All treatments at Aire de Barcleona include access to their historic thermal baths (each one with a different temperature) and their services range from aromatherapy to various massages that can be combined with for instance organic ingredients or hot stone treatments.

Located at the base of the hotel, the spa is a place to in which you can rebalance the needs of your body, mind and soul. Guests are recommended to arrive at least 45 minutes before the treatment time so as to make use of the Mandarin’s Oriental steam room and relaxation area.

The spa features eight treatment rooms, the home of renowned Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio by Bastien Gonzalez, 12-metre spa lap pool, Oriental steam room, facial treatments and products by Linda Meredith and My Secret facial products by Maribel Yébenes.

Rituels d’Orient

The Rituels d’Orient spa is a sanctuary of wellbeing in the midst of Barcelona. A space which offers beautiful surroundings and reconnection with millennial Eastern traditions. The spa takes its traditions from health and beauty secrets whispered generation after generation, in the intimacy of the Eastern baths as found in Morocco and Turkey.

The Hammam and its rituals is an experience for yourself or with a loved one. It is a privileged place where you can enjoy the benefits of traditional treatments and massages that touches your soul and concludes in the relaxation room. The perfect ending where you will savor their mint tea and an Arabian pastry.

The Rituels d’Orient offer various rituals ranging from 100 minutes to 220 minutes if you want to experience pure Hammam bliss.
