Mercedes AMG GT 4-door: The Pinnacle of Grand Tourers
As every gentleman knows, his accessories are as important as his manors and when it comes to transportation, why not do it in style – and speed. This new rocket ship from Mercedes comes with four-doors – and 630 brake horsepower.
If you are a fan of the potent looking Mercedes AMG GT, but are unhappy with the unpractically of just having two doors and a small trunk. You will be happy to know that Mercedes are releasing a four-door, “sensible”, family version. This rocket fuelled wagon will not only take you from point A to B in style, but allow you to drift your family (or crates of champagne) all the way there.
The Mercedes AMG GT 4-door Coupé is their replacement for the CLS 63, and is most likely aimed as a competitor to the Porsche Panamera Turbo S and the upcoming BMW M8 Gran Coupé.
Performance wise the four-door version will boast an impressive power house, even in it’s base model. On the low end we find the GT 53 with 429 horsepower and 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds. The GT 63 comes with AMG’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and puts out 577 horsepower. If that’s not enough power for you, take a look at the GT 63 S which comes loaded with 630 horsepower and impressive 0-60 mph speed of just 3.1 seconds.
Pricing is not available at the time of writing but based on the price of the coupé version I wouldn’t be surprised if the Mercedes AMG GT 4-door coupé lands around £100,000 / $140,000 for the base GT 53 model and flirt with numbers around £180,000 / $250,000 for the ample GT 63 S model.
Okay, shut up and take my money now.
